Savoring the South: Roma Table of Sevierville, Tennessee

When you think of Italian food, you probably don’t think about Sevierville, Tennessee. If you’re here in the Smoky Mountains, you probably should start. With a large, open concept dining space and modern décor, Roma Table has an upscale yet casual ambiance and fantastic service. Occupying the former spot of the TGI Fridays on Parkway, the brand-new Roma Table provides a good spot for an Italian dinner while you visit the Smokies.

What We Ordered

Just like when we visited The Freakin Incan in Roswell, GA we tried to order an assortment of items. Here’s the descriptions directly from the menu:

Garlic Seafood Bucatini – Shrimp, Scallops, Lobster Meat, Garlic Butter, Rosa Sauce, House Breadcrumbs

Rigatoni Sausage Arrabbiata – Spicy Italian Sausage, Calabrian Chilies, Marinara, Kalamata Olives, Capers, Parmesan

Chicken Parmesan – Crispy Breaded Chicken, Marinara, Provolone, Rigatoni in Rosa Sauce, Parmesan, Fresh Basil

Eggplant Parmesan – Crispy Breaded Eggplant, Marinara, Provolone, Rigatoni in Rosa Sauce, Parmesan

Salted Caramel Budino – Butterscotch Custard, Caramel Sauce, Whipped Topping

Everything was good and we enjoyed each dish!

My Favorite Dishes at Roma Table

Everyone at the table agreed that the Chicken and Eggplant Parmesans were exemplary. Perfectly crispy, cheesy, and with the right amount of sauce, these were certainly a favorite! I would highly recommend either of these if you stop at Roma Table.

When the Salted Caramel Budino was brought to our table we were told that Roma Table would put it up against any dish in the area. They were right to say so! The Budino was the right level of sweetness, and wonderfully light, especially after a large meal. If you enjoy caramel or butterscotch flavors, I would also highly recommend this item.

The Salted Caramel Budino

While not dish related, I wanted to really highlight the fact that our server was excellent and attentive. Even the smaller things often overlooked during the dinner rush, like refilling waters, were always done on time. I can’t think of a time that we felt like we waited too long for anything!

Some Criticisms

There were some small problems with some of the dishes. Our Caesar salads, while tasty, were slightly overdressed. Additionally, there were some issues with the pasta. Similarly, the bucatini was enjoyable but the noodles were a tad overcooked.

Overall, these issues did not take away too much from the dining experience. If corrected, they could really take Roma Table to the next level.

The Final Verdict

Roma Table is a good spot to get Italian food in the Sevierville area. If you’re here on vacation, I would definitely recommend it. The smaller issues with some of the dishes did not take away much from the overall experience. This place is definitely worth a stop.
